Sushi Chat
Sushi Chat Cessnock is inspired by the whispers and the echoes of nature, between the mountains.
CESSNOCK PLAZA, NSW
2017
Based on this concept, we want to explore the dynamic between line and curve, density and softness. Through the repetition of lines throughout the space we want to create a sense of flow and connectivity, using straight and curved timber element to illustrate the notion of mountains and streams, inviting patrons to venture into the interior of the restaurant.
In the dining area of Sushi Chat, soft fabric is hung from the ceiling, printed with abstract scenery of the mountains to further emphasize the concept. Timber furniture are also used to accentuate the softness of the Interior, contrasting the denseness of concrete in the shopfront area, expressing the dynamic and the flow of the restaurant.
